Looking at the specs of the two flashlights you mention:
Polarion PH40 4,200 lumens
But has a narrow 3 degrees beam or 20 degrees beam. At 3 degrees it would be super narrow and really throw a long ways.
This flashlight is more comparable to the FireSword flashlight. I sometimes put four XML LEDs into it, and it is 4000 lumens with a 6 degrees beam. The FireSword-V is 3000 lumens, but, has a 10 to 12 degrees wider floody type beam.
The Fenix TK70 is only 2,200 lumens. I could not find the beam angle. This is comparable to the FireSword-V, but the Firesword-V is 3000 lumens, a bit brighter.
You can look at the web page for the FireSword-V. Price is $399.99
Kong-12-XML, the last few I've made, I'm using 20mm 6 degrees reflectors. The beam is narrower than what I was using in the youtube video. I need to take some more videos. I'm finishing up one now, but I have to ship it out today. If I could keep it for a few days I would take some beam shot videos. I don't even have one of my own, I always ship the ones I make to customers. I'd like to keep one for myself some day.
Anyway, Kong-12-XML, according to specs of the LED and the power level I run the LEDs at, is 12,000 lumens. It uses 12 18650 Li-Ion batteries. I configure the LEDs in 3 banks of four LEDs. Each bank is running 16.8V and 3 amp. Total amperage is 9 amps, total wattage is 124 watts approximately. Run time on high mode is about 1 hour, no problems with overheating. On low power setting run time would be 9 to 12 hours, not sure exactly.
HID flashlights cannot be switched on and off and on and off. They actually lose performance with each use, and the bulbs are expensive. The ballast is expensive too, and sometimes they go out. If you drop the flashlight, sometimes it will break the bulb.
Kong-12-XML is huge, this one I'm working on is over 6 pounds, without batteries. This is just in another league than the flashlights you mention. I think Kong-12-XML is in a league of it's own, nothing really like it that I know of. Hard to compare it with much of anything.
Feel free to ask other questions, if you have any.
Thanks, Wayne Johnson
